Current Event->Girl Almost Raped at Brubacher Hall
October 31,2006
According to StRose.Edu, a girl was sexually assaulted last saturday in her dorm room at Brubacher Hall. The girl returned to her room to find two men searching through it and stealing things. When the men saw her they reportedly hit her and tried to rape her, but they ran out and fled. The men were not caught and are still out there.
This news of what happened in Brubacher has made me very angry. Being that it is my own dorm hall, I do not feel as secure as a I first did. The security is very minimal, with only one guard at the front door. The fact that men could slip into this poor girl’s room, nearly rape her, and then not even get caught is insane. It makes me think what if I was the person who walked into my room and saw this? They could have felt alot more threatened and tried to kill me. This girl is now traumatized and will probably never be the same. I do not think the school realizes how easy it is to get into our dorms and do not realize that we are innocent college students who shouldn’t have to worry about where we live. I do not see an increase of security since then, except that now we have to walk a different path when we first come in. Also, the suspects are still free and are able to do this again to other victims. Something has to be done and I hope the parents are ripping into the school.

Let me ask this one question why was her door not locked? There are so many little questions that can be asked about this case. It doesn’t make sense because I know if I was that girl and I walked into my room and witnessed men going through my stuff I would have put up a fight or screamed and ran away. Instead it seems as though she entered the room. Its weird how all the sudden they tried to rape her. If they really wanted to rape her they could have. They could have easily covered her mouth shut the door and then raped her. The story changes everyday-things get added. It is quite ridiculous if you ask me. It’s her fault to not only security she should have looked her door. There are so many things I could say but it would just get me in trouble so I’ll keep quiet about the situation. The college is going to turn around and tell the parents well the door should not have been unlocked and it probably wouldn’t have happened. The issue here is those two guys could be residents of Brubacher. Whose knows anything is possible. I’m a resident of Brubacher to and never once did I feel safe here its college you have to watch out for your stuff otherwise its going to get stolen! This girl was not raped she was supposedily sexually assault how though when they just groped her or pushed her. It’s getting out of line and people are overreacting. This happens everywhere. Do you see colleges reporting rapes all over the news no!

I heard about this recently, but didn’t get the details. Wow, that is nuts! It is sad that you can’t feel truly safe at your college (which you spend alot of money to attend) or even in your “secured” dorm room… ! The individuals who commited these acts are disguisting. I hope the girl is okay, I don’t know how good you can really be after something scary like this happens to you. I hope that everyone in the area is more alert, and aware that there is crazy assholes out there. Take Care

all that girl wanted to do was create some sort of drama. rumor has it that the whole thing was a lie! its a shame that she made everyone at the campus feel nervous that it might happen to them. the security started buckling down on everyone after that happened. you had to show your ID EVERY SINGLE TIME you walked into your dorm hall. it was ridiculous. since the girl confessed that she lied, the security started to lighten up again. i don’t think they should have lightened up at all. we still need to be safe. they dont always make visitors check in. personally, i don’t want unrecorded strangers in the hall where i’m living

We now know that she made up this entire event. I hope she goes to jail for taking up police officers time and money. Creating fake disturbances like this, prevent officers from stopping real criminals.
